This makes me sick.

Let's get one thing straight, with all of humanity, right here and right now.

WE ARE ANIMALS, JUST LIKE ANY OTHER LIVING THING THAT CRAWLS, WALKS, OR SLITHERS.

We are not better than then any other animal.

We do not have any more right to be here, on this planet than any other animal does.

Every animal, on this planet, including humans, has the right to survive, to eat, to defend itself with any means at its disposal.

Death is a part of life, and is acceptable in the natural cycle. AND ONLY the natural cycle. The needless torture and death as an act of ownership that humans exhibit for their own pleasure is a CRIME AGAINST EVERY LIVING THING.

There is a man in South America that calls himself an artist. He goes by the name of Guillermo Vargas Habacuc. In 2007, he took a dog off the street and tied it to a post in an art gallery, while people watched this poor defenseless animal starve to death.

I'm not only horrified that this is called art, but that his government condoned it as such. Take a look at the pictures here, if you are strong of stomach. What kind of person could do such a thing? What kind of government can allow it? What kind of people could visit the gallery and sit by and do nothing?

The answer, in short, are cowards. Cowardly people that are not right in the head, in my opinion.

So what can you do about it, besides flying down to Nicaragua and overthrowing the government that condoned this, beating the people that watched it, and killing the criminal who though it up?

Sign this petition.

This dirt bag is going to pull the stunt again, this year, in 2008. Sign the petition. It doesn't cost you anything, and every extra name helps.

One more thing. If you feel strongly about this like I do, put this up on your blog. It's not just about one dog, it's about a statement, a contingent of people who won't stand for barbaric, medieval style thinking. It's one of the many things that you and I can do to start to bring the human animal in harmony with our world and our roomates, instead of constant conflict with it.

Until we can come to grips with our own superiority complex, the only true animals that inhabit this planet is us humans.

That's so effing disgusting and there's a special place in hell for this a-hole.

I'm worried that many people only care about this because it was a dog. What if a cow had been tied there and starved? What if it was just a rodent or reptile in a cage? Does that make a difference?
I don't understand what statement he was making in the "art" installment. What was his supposed point?

I heard about this a while back. So crazy. This guy deserves something...and I'm thinking jail time won't do the trick.

Ginormous boobs - I was thinking about asking you to smother him in those giant fun pillows, but that would be too pleasant for him. We'll find a fat sweaty guy instead.

knight - for me, that's why I included the first bit, to remind people of that. Some people only care about animals they can apply an anthropomorphism to.

Jessica - tied up to a pole and starved?

Are you FUCKING KIDDING me??
This is... okay... i'm so mad right now I can't talk.
As an artist I find this beyond appauling. Going to steal this and post to my other blog.
Excuse me while I go track down that so called artist and beat the motherfucking living shit out of him.

I didn't click to read the story. I've heard quite enough. I think even people who hate animals should think this to be beyond cruelty. Sick sick sick sick sick.

Mike, that was nasty. Coming from a person that does not have nor want animals This is is just sick.

I realize that these animals have no right to be used or abused! that man needs some help.. When I do my blog today I will add a link for them to stop by your blog for the petition.

I am on my way to sign it now!

Thanks
S.

That is just plain wrong! I can't believe people actually went to see this! I am disgusted.

I will be posting this on my blog as well to spread the word.

I'm not one to stop eating steak or to stop wearing leather but this is BEYOND wrong. Poor little puppy. I think they should cut him lose and let him eat the guy.

man that's messed up... i couldn't click over to the story.

we should tie that dude to a post and let 'em rot.

Now, I knew there are a few people out there who call themselves artists, but who really only lost the majority of marbles in their skull cavity... so I can see some so-called artist doing this thing for art.

But, then some lame-ass government condones??? Not that I didn't know there is a lack of marble supply among politicians - but this is simply outrageous!

Makes me want to tie these people to a pole and watch them starve to death... now that would be art!

Disturbing ! too bad people didnt react while the dog was starving ! too late..

Iron Pugilist said...

The dog died needlessly and painfully. It's a pity we can't do the same to humans for the sake of art.

ozymandiaz said...

Reading the comments of other signitures I see many people had the same idea I had. Tie the F*^(*& up and let HIM starve to death. Now thats art...
or justice.

I didn't click the picture because I doubt I could stomach it. But this is awful. I do not believe in torturing animals, although I'll still eat a select few.

i signed the petition.

i like animals more than most people. maybe that makes me an asshole, but animals are inherrently good, and usually only are aggressive and mean with provocation. unfortunately, i cannot say the same about humans.

i hope this guys gets his small, shriveled nuts chewed off by one of the dogs he starves.

FYI, this shows up on urbanlegends.com

If you Google it, you can find it in several iterations.

Thanks all, for showing your support and your humanity!

Tequila: I agree. I like animals WAY better than I like people. Thirty years of living on this planet has confirmed this for me.

Moooooog - maybe it's an urban legend, maybe not, but that dog died up in the pictures looks very thin and sickly.

- Meaning you have nothing to lose by signing the petition.

I agree with absolutely every single word you wrote. That's one of the most repulsive things I've ever heard. it makes me feel physically ill. I've always thought it ridiculous that humans consider themselves above "other" animals - I think this goes some way to justify my thoughts. You can bet I'll be signing that petition.
Good work writing about it. And I like your idea of tit-for-tat punishment. :)

I read all about this ass recently. He should be the proud recipient of his next piece of "art."
